SOAR Scholarship for Ontario Law Students Interested in Administrative Law and Justice

A message from Daphne Simon, the Executive Director of the Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators

APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN FOR THE SOAR SCHOLARSHIP 2022

The Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators is pleased to award an annual academic scholarship.

SOAR is an independent, non-profit, non-partisan association of Chairs, members, management and staff of the province’s administrative boards, agencies, regulators and tribunals.  SOAR’s mission is to advance administrative justice through education, advocacy and innovation.

To promote interest in and recognize dedication to the principles of administrative law, SOAR will award one $5,000 scholarship to an upper level (L2 or L3) student who demonstrates a commitment to the administrative justice system.  Students must show, in a written essay, how their studies have led them (or will lead them) to embrace the practice of administrative law.

In light of COVID circumstances, student transcripts will be accepted as issued by law schools (pass/fail, credit, etc).

Applications are accepted no later than July 31, 2022.  The award will be presented at SOAR’s annual general meeting (December 2022).

The Application Form is enclosed and also available on SOAR’s website: www.soar.on.ca

Completed applications or related inquiries should be submitted electronically to: scholarship@soar.on.ca

We hope you will assist us in disseminating this news to your students and adding the SOAR Scholarship to the pool of grants and bursaries offered by your school.

Please feel free to post or circulate accordingly.
